The CF1/2MCBWFS (½) .5 micron filter uses Solid Pressed Molded Carbon Block Technology to reduce or remove Cysts, Bacteria, Chlorine, Ammonia, Chloramines, Hydro-Carbon Gases, VOC’s, Fine Sediments, Silt, and Clay from untreated water. Small granules of Coconut Shell Carbon are Crushed into Powder, Pressed and Bonded together with a “PATENTED” heat molding process to form a solid BLOCK of Carbon. Coconut Shell Carbon has much smaller cell sites in the fractionated carbon granules than Bituminous Coal, offering faster adsorption and more retention capacity of the Chlorine, Ammonia, Chloramines, Hydro-Carbon Gases, and VOC’s from the untreated water than Bituminous Coal is capable of. The Block Density provides 2-10 times more Volume Weight of Filter Material when compared to other Carbon Filters, also allowing better filtration of the Fine Sediments, Silt, Clay, Cysts, and Bacteria. This filter provides the best protection against VOC’s, Hydro-Carbon Gas, Cyst and Bacteria Contaminants when used in a Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System as a Storage Tank Post-filter.
Recommended Service Interval on Most Water Supplies: 3 years

- CF1/2MCB (½) .5 Micron
CF1/2MCB - Substitute Carbon Filter for Ametek®, Aqua-Pure®, Bruner®, Challenger®, Culligan®, Ecowater®, GE®, Hague®, Hydrotech®, Kinetico®, KISS®, Nimbus®, PJD®, Premier®, PuRO-Twist®, PureGen®, Pure Safe®, PureTel®, Rainsoft®, Sears®, TGI-Pure®, US Filter®, Water Factory®, WaterSafe®, Watts® and other Filtration Systems.
This (½) .5 micron filter uses Solid Pressed Molded Carbon Block Technology to reduce or remove Cysts, Bacteria, Fungus, Algae, Chlorine, Ammonia, Chloramines, Hydro-Carbon Gases, and VOC’s (Volatile Organic Chemicals) from untreated water. Small granules of Coconut Shell Carbon are Crushed, Pressed and Bonded together with a “PATENTED” heat molding process to form a solid BLOCK or Brick of Carbon. Coconut Shell Carbon has much smaller cell sites in the fractionated carbon granules than Bituminous Coal, offering almost twice as many cell sites than Bituminous Coal due to the smaller size. The higher quantity of smaller cell sites in Coconut Shell Carbon can react quicker to adsorbing the Chlorine, Ammonia, Chloramines, Hydro-Carbon Gases, and VOC’s from the untreated water, and retain these gases for longer periods of time than Bituminous Coal is capable of. The (½) .5-micron Carbon Block Density assures better removal of contaminants by reducing the water flow or “Permeation” through the Block, and, minimizes water channeling associated with other Carbon filters. The solid Carbon Block provides 2 to 10 times more volume weight of filter material compared to other Granular Carbon, Block, and Fiber type filters by greatly reducing the porosity of the loose granules of Carbon, and void areas between fibers. This filter has also been known to be effective in reducing or removing Petroleum By-products such as MTBE, Toluene, Benzene, etc., and also Cysts and Bacteria such as Cryptosporidium, Cyclospora, Giardia, E-Coli, and Legionnaires Disease. This filter would normally be used as a post-filter for a Reverse Osmosis system, or combined with other pre-filters in a Multi-stage Reverse Osmosis system, or as a stand alone filter. Other Carbon filters require more frequent service intervals and cartridge replacement. This filter offers the BEST protection against Fine Sediments, Chlorine, Hydro-Carbon Gases, VOC’s, Cysts, Bacteria and other contaminants.
Recommended Service Interval on Most Water Supplies: 1 Year

- CF10MCB 10 Micron
CF10MCB - Substitute Carbon Filter for Ametek®, Aqua-Pure®, Bruner®, Challenger®, Culligan®, Ecowater®, GE®, Hague®, Hydrotech®, Kinetico®, KISS®, Nimbus®, PJD®, Premier®, PuRO-Twist®, PureGen®, Pure Safe®, PureTel®, Rainsoft®, Sears®, TGI-Pure®, US Filter®, Water Factory®, WaterSafe®, Watts® and other Filtration Systems.
This 10 micron filter uses Extruded Carbon Block Technology to reduce or remove Chlorine, and other Hydro-Carbon Gases from untreated water. Small granules of Bituminous Carbon are Crushed and bonded together with a proprietary Extrusion molding process to form a long, solid BLOCK of Carbon that is cut to specific lengths. Bituminous Carbon is mined from the Earth and does not possess the smaller cell site structure of Coconut Shell Carbon, so Bituminous Carbon IS NOT capable of reducing or removing VOC’s (Volatile Organic Chemicals), Ammonia, Chloramines, or other priority level Hydro-Carbon Gas contaminants that the 1/2 micron Carbon Block filter is capable of reducing or removing. And, the 10 micron rating results in less filter material volume weight per square inch which does not allow for removal of Silt, Clay, fine Sediments, Cysts or Bacteria that the 1/2 micron Carbon Block is capable of reducing or removing. The solid Carbon Block design provides 2 to 3 times more volume weight of filter material compared to other Granular Carbon and Fiber type filters by greatly reducing the porosity of the loose granules of Carbon. This filter would normally be used as a Pre-filter to reduce or remove Chlorine from the incoming water when combined with other pre-filters in a Multi-stage Reverse Osmosis system, or as a stand alone filter at a single dispensing faucet, requiring frequent service intervals and cartridge replacement.
Recommended Service Interval on Most Water Supplies: 3-6 Months

- CF100MGAC 100 Micron
CF100MGAC - Substitute Carbon Filter for Ametek®, Aqua-Pure®, Bruner®, Challenger®, Culligan®, Ecowater®, GE®, Hague®, Hydrotech®, Kinetico®, KISS®, Nimbus®, PJD®, Premier®, PuRO-Twist®, PureGen®, Pure Safe®, PureTel®, Rainsoft®, Sears®, TGI-Pure®, US Filter®, Water Factory®, WaterSafe®, Watts® and other Filtration Systems.
This 100 micron filter uses Granular Activated Carbon Technology to reduce or remove Chlorine, and other Hydro-Carbon Gases from untreated water. Small granules of Bituminous Carbon are encapsulated in a Plastic container along with a very small micro-fiber pre-filter element. And, the 100 micron rating results in far less filter material volume weight per square inch which does not allow for removal of any Dirt, Sediments, Silt, Clay, Fine Sediments, Cysts or Bacteria that the 1/2 micron Carbon Block is capable of reducing or removing. This filter would normally be used as a Pre-filter to reduce or remove Chlorine from the incoming water when combined with other pre-filters in a Multi-stage Reverse Osmosis system, or as a stand alone filter for Chlorine removal at a single dispensing faucet. However, the consumer must realize that all Sediments, Dirt, Fine Sediments, Cysts, Bacteria, and other debris will pass through this filter when used in a Reverse Osmosis system, which leads to Fouling, and Damage to the Membrane Filter, requiring frequent service intervals and cartridge replacement.
Recommended Service Interval on Most Water Supplies: 1-3 Months

- CF20MIP 20 Micron
CF20MIP - Substitute Carbon Filter for Ametek®, Aqua-Pure®, Bruner®, Challenger®, Culligan®, Ecowater®, GE®, Hague®, Hydrotech®, Kinetico®, KISS®, Nimbus®, PJD®, Premier®, PuRO-Twist®, PureGen®, Pure Safe®, PureTel®, Rainsoft®, Sears®, TGI-Pure®, US Filter®, Water Factory®, WaterSafe®, Watts® and other Filtration Systems.
This 20 micron filter uses Carbon Impregnated Cellulose Paper Technology to reduce or remove Sediments, Sand, Rocks, Chlorine, Hydro-Carbon Gases, and other large debris from untreated water. This filter is actually considered a “Duplex”, or “Dual-Purpose” filter which attempts to remove Sediments and Chlorine with a single pass. Minimal amounts of Small Bituminous Carbon granules are crushed into a powder and impregnated onto sheets of cellulose paper and rolled around a plastic center core. Rubber end caps are added for additional structural support of the rolled paper, but promotes the Growth of Bacteria on the rubber material which causes a health risk. Due to the inefficiency of this cartridge design, limited volume of filter material, and 20 micron rating, this filter does not allow for removal of any Silt, Clay, Fine Sediments, Cysts or Bacteria that the 1/2 micron Carbon Block is capable of reducing or removing. This filter would normally be used as a Pre-filter to reduce or remove Sediment and Chlorine from the incoming water when combined with other pre-filters in a Multi-stage Reverse Osmosis system, or as a stand alone filter at a single dispensing faucet. However, the consumer must realize that the Silt, Clay, Fine Sediments, Cysts, Bacteria, other debris, and eventually Chlorine will pass through this filter when used in a Reverse Osmosis system, which leads to Fouling, and Damage to the Membrane Filter, requiring frequent service intervals and cartridge replacement.
